Well, another year has begun and I have decided to enter the world of blogging. The word sounds too much like jogging, something I definitely will not commit to. 2017 has arrived and we really don’t know how it will unfold or what it will bring but the decisions we make will have an influence and impact upon our lives. A very successful man was asked, “How did you become so successful?” “By making good decisions” he answered. “How did you learn to make good decisions” the inquirer wanted to know. ” Oh that is simple” he replied, “bad decisions.”
Wouldn’t it be great if every decision we made this year was a good one? Let me suggest a couple of decisions that I know are good ones.
- Read the bible through this year. At about three chapters a day you can get it done. I am also joining the challenge that some of our youth have accepted to read through the New Testament in six months.
- Spend time regularly with God in prayer. Learn to be still and listen.
- Commit to memorizing a verse a week. Hey, if our children in AWANA can do it so can you.
- Ask God to make you aware every day of the opportunities to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence (1 Peter 3:5)
